Skate Liver Oil

Be strong of mind, body and spirit. Skate oil sustains mood, mind, bone and joint health. Skate liver oil is abundant in vitamins A, D, E, and K as well as the full range of omega fatty acids. But because skates are cartilaginous fish, the oil also contains a variety of micronutrients specific to connective tissue. How To Beat Inflammation Using Turmeric

What is a Spice?

Let me grab a quote from the Wikipedia Spice page:

A spice is a dried seed, fruit, root, bark, or vegetable substance primarily used for flavoring, coloring or preserving food.

Spices are distinguished from herbs, which are parts of leafy green plants used for flavoring or as a garnish.

Many spices have antimicrobial properties. This may explain why spices are more commonly used in warmer climates, which have more infectious disease, and why the use of spices is prominent in meat, which is particularly susceptible to spoiling.

When I eat Turmeric my brain tingles.

Curcumin, the main ingredient in the spice turmeric, is currently the subject of intense scientific inquiry, especially as it relates to the brain.

Interventions designed to reduce inflammation using natural substances like turmeric have been described in medical literature dating back more than two thousand years.

It actually has been used in traditional Chinese and Indian (ayurvedic) medicine for thousands of years.

Even though it is well know for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and antibacterial properties, its ability to increase BDNF (Brain-derived neurotrophic factor) in particular is what is getting the attention of neuroscientists around the world.

That’s the part that got my attention too. It’s a brain enhancer.

Turmeric is crazy because it has the ability to activate genes to produce a vast array of antioxidants that serve to protect our mitochondria. It also improves glucose metabolism.

Basically a bunch of epidemiologists figured out that communities that use turmeric in abundance have WAY less dementia.

So people are using this spice as a way to prevent and relieve symptoms of Alzheimers and dementia.

You should definitely add this amazing spice to your daily protocol.

Chances are you don’t want to eat curry everyday though. So the good news is you can take it as a supplement. It is a water-soluble supplement so it’s metabolized pretty fast. That also means it’s probably best to take it twice daily.

I take 400 mg twice daily and even sprinkle the powder on certain food dishes.

The bottom line is I take this because it enhances my brain function and has powerful antioxidant effects that neutralize free radicals as it stimulates my body’s own antioxidant enzymes. Yeah… it’s pretty bad ass.

How To Be Healthy While Still Eating Chocolate

A lot of people ask me about my diet and what I eat on a regular basis.

What is the plant based diet? Mostly plants.

Like this plant based breakfast:

The good news is, chocolate is a plant and so is coconut!

“Chocolate will make you feel better.” -GOD

Nourish your mind and body and satiate your hunger with healthy fats, protein and fiber!

Coconut is a super-nutrient food, nourishes your brain and body, satiating hunger with healthy fats, protein and fiber.

When you eat coconut, the MCTs it contains are transported from the intestinal tract to the liver and immediately transformed into fuel.

This then means there is very little fat left to circulate and leave deposits in the body.

As it turns out, coconut meat’s measurable vitamins A and E, and polyphenols and phytosterols, all work together to decrease the levels of LDL cholesterol.

Dark chocolate is one of natures strongest antioxidants.

That means it’s really good at getting toxins out of your body.

Toxins are bad. They will kill you.

Eat dark chocolate and live.

Dark chocolate contains hundreds of blissful, health-promoting properties that support a positive mood and healthy cognition.

This is a brain-healthy treat that won’t make you fat and should never make you feel guilty. Eat as many as your heart desires. Then run to the gym in your weighted vest.
